The creatures I would like to start this video with are called Xenomorphs XX121. The famous creepy creatures from the Alien series of films have, among other things, one interesting feature. Something long, reminiscent of a kind of internal limb, and equipped with its own jaws at the end, extends from their mouth.
A fantastic design, isn't it? Or maybe there are analogues in nature? If you look at a dragonfly larva, a kind of hand with jaws instead of fingers sticks out of its head from below. Usually it is folded, but at the right moment it suddenly throws itself forward, helping to grab an approaching victim, then pull it to the mouth and comfortably hold it while eating.
Fantasy in reality. This is how dragonfly larvae hunt, and their unique grasping apparatus is called a mask. Probably everyone is familiar with dragonflies. But few people have encountered their larvae, which live underwater. Let's get to know them better in this video.
