Ok, so here's a step-by-step process of how my audio got to this point of sounding like an alien:
1. My room has no AC, so I need the fan or my focus goes down to the earth's core
2. The fan is loud
3. To combat said loudness, I tried noise suppression from OBS
4. It wasn't enough, so I tried using my old mic too (as opposed to built-in)
5. As usual, I didn't give myself enough time to test audio settings
6. ???
