Out and About with Kumechacha!: Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival 2019
The 2019 Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival features 29 brilliant new lanterns made up of 20,000 colorful LED lights and 30,000 square feet of delicate silk.
The centerpiece of the festival this year is a magnificent 200-foot-long phoenix. The glowing mythical creature stands at 21 feet tall and weighs 6,000 pounds.
Another show stopping lantern display featuring mythological creatures called kylin is made of more than 30,000 clear jars filled with colored water and lights.
New interactive installations this year include brightly lit swings, a fortune-telling wheel and a dragon tunnel that guests can walk through.
