Kimi Werner reunites with childhood friend and contemporary artist of Hawaiian lei-making, Pamakane Pico. They visit Pamakane's lush tropical farm, meet her beloved pets and forage for lei-making materials in the heart of nature. Back in Kimi's Kitchen, they prepare poisson cru, a Tahitian dish of fish, citrus, colorful vegetables and fresh-squeezed coconut milk. Pamakane weaves a beautiful lei with the plants foraged as the two friends reminisce about growing up in rural Maui- the good times, the hard times and how important it was to fight for their friendship and passions.
