In 1966 US Congress passed a bill named the Cuban Adjustment Act. It encouraged Cubans to come immigrate to the United States and give them a fast path to US Citizenship and government handouts. It has also been abused by many Cuban Criminals coming to the United States and led to immigration overloads too for Florida.
