I don't know why but I have a fascination with the 18th - 19th century maritime stories, books and films, I love pirates and I love sea shanties. Assassins Creed : Black Flag is one of my favourite games because it let me experience all that. I love Sea of Thieves for that reason too, I can sail the seas, be a pirate and play my songs during a storm.
So I was surprised to learn that Tik Tok blew up with those songs and turned 2021 the year of sea shanties!
Of course I had to try and turn the Wellerman, a 19th century whaling song into synthwave, and I used the incredible performance by The Longest Johns, a 4 piece band that I've watched on YouTube, singing to Sea of Thieves players.
