Colony is a new ransomware. It is also referred to as the .colony96 file virus. It encrypts files and appends the .colony96 extension to the filenames. Hence, it's not possible to use the files anymore. Then the ransomware tells the victims to pay a special ransom for file restoration. Yet, paying the ransom is not a good idea. Don't pay it!
