Oh boi, it's finally here. The Great Smokies. Been looking forward to this put-together for a minute. What an eon ago that was. And yet, how fond each day still is to recall. Outta Fontana Dam came the climb. Bear raided shelters served as lunch breaks, staring out into the foggy thickets for eyes, sounds, or maybe 2 NPS rangers riding horseback- looking for the bear itself that closed the shelter. Clingman Dome opened up just enough for all the tourists to rush the observatory, and I continued pace through to the end. A rewarding time up on Mt. Crammerer to top it all off.
