Composing with The Vortex
"The Vortex" a collaboration between Studioninedots and Synthetic State, showcased during Karper K's opening night. This installation is an exploration into how light can be used to instantaneously transform a space and the experience of its inhabitants.
It is powered by a supercharged MAINFRAME system, which uses 14x MAINFRAME-Bs and a central "Mother" which is responsible for timing between the individual MAINFRAME-B's. As with each MAINFRAME-B, this entire system is still controlled via MIDI in a similar way, but we are also processing audio to generate envelopes to add life to the installation.
