• B vitamins, vitamins A, P, K, F, and trace elements. These substances have a positive effect on the digestive tract, circulatory, and nervous systems, regulating blood glucose levels. The vitamins in a properly prepared green tea strengthen blood vessels, improve kidney function, and support overall health.
• Amino acids, including glutamic acid and gamma-aminobutyric acid, stimulate brain function and promote nervous system recovery.
• Alkaloids – including theobromine and caffeine. The latter has a pronounced tonic effect, while theobromine is an excellent diuretic.
The beneficial properties of green tea include:
1. Stimulation of brain structures. Regular consumption of high-quality green tea increases the concentration of dopamine in the body, also known as the "happiness hormone." At the same time, it reduces the production of adenosine, which slows down nervous system reactions. This means that drinking green tea improves brain activity, memory, mood, and concentration. Green tea contains less caffeine than black tea or coffee, and its stimulating, tonic effect lasts longer, although it is more subtle.
2. Slowing down the natural aging process. Older adults often experience various disorders related to brain function. Dementia, or senility in the elderly, is often associated with the development of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's syndromes. As early as 2011, studies demonstrated the beneficial properties of green tea leaf extract in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Catechins in green tea prevent accelerated neuronal damage.
3. Accelerating weight loss. Dietary supplements used for weight loss contain green tea. This is due to the drink's ability to enhance metabolic processes. Of course, everything depends on the individual characteristics of the body, and the effect of the drink on each person will be unique. However, it has been proven that regular consumption of green tea, combined with adequate exercise, can help you lose weight much faster. The drink is very low in calories, so if you don't add sugar, honey, or other sweeteners, you can lose an average of 7 kilograms in one year.
4. Eliminates bad breath. The catechins in green tea inhibit the growth and development of opportunistic bacteria, such as streptococci, which are part of the normal microflora in the oral cavity. When immunity is weakened or oral hygiene is poor, bacteria become active and can cause gum inflammation, cavities, and deep tooth decay.
