WHO are the Uzbeks, and HOW were they influenced by their ANCIENT CITIES?
The Uzbeks are the most numerous Turkic people among the Central Asian nations. And Uzbekistan itself is located in the very heart of our region. The history of Uzbekistan is an ever-pulsating rhythm of flourishing cities and numerous demographic waves that successively washed over the Central Asian interfluve from literally all directions. And, of course, it is a place where outstanding thinkers of global significance lived and worked.
