Nick Wolcott founded Skate Devils to create an inclusive, safe space for ASU students to come together and skateboard. Despite being an officially recognized club, members have been repeatedly kicked off campus and even threatened with arrest by ASU PD officers. For many students, off-campus skateparks are inaccessible due to lack of transportation, leaving them with little choice but to risk negative interactions with campus police. Skate Devils wants ASU to understand that they’re simply trying to have fun and that “skateboarding is not a crime.”
