Automated Processing of PO-based Invoices | Robotic Process Automation Video
Introducing Annie, a software robot developed by Tangent Solutions, who processes invoices in SAP for the Accounts Payable department. Due to the volume (approx. 500 invoices per day) and time associated (approx. 5-10 min per invoice) with monitoring of an email inbox, extracting invoice-related data, and processing the data on SAP, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) was implemented to reduce, or possibly eliminate human intervention by automating all manual and repetitive activities that are weighing down valuable resources.
Annie's responsibilities are:
(1) Data Collection: This includes receiving emails, storing the attached invoices in a predefined folder structure on the network, and extracting all invoice-related data for data-capturing purposes.
(2) Invoice Capturing: This includes capturing the invoice-related data in SAP, performing quality control checks to maintain accuracy, and posting the invoice on the system.
(3) Invoice Attachment: This includes the attachment of the invoice to the posted record on SAP and reporting on the processing performance.
