K-371 (NATO class name: Victor II) managed to detect and negate the NATO submarine attempting to deliver a commando team to to Norway despite horrible sea conditions.
Our new orders from GLAVCOM was to wait for a new NATO CVBG to enter the Norwegian sea... and give it a very very warm welcome.

We have intercepted the NATO CVBG in the middle of Norwegian Sea, and we are engaging. This CVBG is indeed heavily escorted, as I counted no less than 3 cruisers, 3 destroyers, and 2 frigates, plus ASW helos. However, the Soviet navy has claimed this area, and the CVBG shall receive a VERY warm welcome... as well as its escorts...

The year is 1984. For whatever reason that sounds plausible, the tension between the West and Soviet Union went taut, then snapped into open war. The Soviet Army can take Europe, if the Soviet Navy can stop or at least slow the amount of reinforcements reaching continental Europe from the US. And as a captain of a Soviet navy submarine, I will do my duty for the Motherland.
There is one mod to the campaign. I used the "Small Mods" guide (which I wrote, by the way) to remove the prestige requirement so I start in a Victor II, instead of the deathtrap diesel-electric subs like the Whiskey boats. You can learn how to do that here:
