Amateur Detectorist Uncovers Priceless 500-Year-Old Royal Treasure
In 2019, amateur detectorist Charlie Clarke stumbled upon the find of a lifetime when he unearthed a gold pendant with connections to Henry VIII and his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. After scientific analysis dated the object to 1530 or earlier, it was hypothesized that the pendant might have been used as a prize during a tournament or joust.
