Beauty with a purpose for “Miss World” by Sofiia Shamiia
Today we present a charity video dedicated to the most important beauty pageant, Miss World, with the motto "Beauty with a Purpose”.
On 24 February 2022, a terrible war hit Ukraine. Thousands have lost their homes to missile strikes. Streets, villages, and whole cities lay in ruins. Nature is devastated, with wounds lasting decades.
"Miss Ukraine 2023" doesn't stand aside and continues to help everyone affected by the devastating consequences of the war. Sofiia pays special attention to children.
She organised a celebration for children at the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Ohmatdyt", creating an unforgettable day with costumes of favourite characters, animators, and games. The little princesses also tried on the real "Miss Ukraine" crown.
As an artist, she conducted an art therapy course for children to help heal their emotional wounds.
Miss Ukraine 2023 organised a charity auction, and the funds from selling the painting “Lost Childhood” supported the “Mriya” educational and rehabilitation centre for children in Lviv.
In this auction she sold another painting “Eyes of Sorrow”. All funds were donated to the organisation Frontline Medics for Ukrainian hospital workers.
