Pro-Putin television commentators unanimously refer to those who defend Ukraine's independence as Banderites, portraying the latter as a true fiend. The average person, however, often calls them not Banderites, but Banderites, perhaps due to a subconscious association with the great schemer Ostap Bender. But who was Stepan Bandera really?
