The feature of parametric drawing was introduced in AutoCAD version 2010 and is a method of making geometry with geometrical or dimensional constraints or restrictions.
Parametric objects update automatically if any one parameter is changed, this also helps in maintaining design intent. Parametric constraints only applies to 2D geometry.
There are two types of constraints:
Geometric Constraints which maintain relationships of associated objects
Dimensional Constraints which control length, angle, distance and radius values of object

Create constraints, enforcing associated geometry to obey the constraints applied
Override constraints
Automatically constrain geometry
