Kevin Costner begins the festivities at the Field of Dreams
On August 12, 2021, MLB staged the first game at the newly created Field of Dreams, situated on the grounds of the famous movie site, of the same name, from 1989. Prior to the game, Kevin Costner, the lead actor from the hit film, where he played Ray Kinsella, emerged from the cornfield and started the pregame festivities, including the teams emerging from the cornfields themselves.
