"Cádiz" is Isaac Albéniz' hommage to the Andalusian city of Cádiz.

"Cádiz" was originally composed as part of his "Suite Española" Op. 47 for piano. It pays homage to the ancient port city of Cádiz in Spain's Andalusia region. The piece is written in the form of a saeta, a type of traditional Spanish Catholic religious song. It captures the essence of Andalusian music with its flamenco influences, marked by expressive melodies and rhythmic patterns characteristic of southern Spanish folk music.

The composition reflects the cultural richness of Cádiz, one of Spain's oldest cities, with its Moorish heritage and maritime history. Like many of Albéniz's works, it demonstrates his ability to translate Spanish folk idioms into classical piano music, helping to establish a distinctive Spanish classical music style in the late 19th century.
