Australia shames people who illegally remove trees
The Australian government will sometimes erect a sign where a tree was illegally removed, in order to publicly shame the perpetrator.
Trees are often removed for a better view. Locals will deliberately poison them or cut them down. Members of Tree Watch will report suspicious tree behavior. In some cases, the sign remains in place until the vegetation has regrown to its original size.
