"Kingsized" - Behind The Song
Initially frustrated by swing music’s lack of pelvis, Steve was inspired to write “Kingsized” as a way to incorporate new swing flavored songs into The Daddies’ live set that have “more booty” to them, as well as to break down the barrier of orthodoxy and elitism that can oftentimes be associated with swing music and dance. It is Steve’s hope that writing more primal songs, in addition to more traditional fare, can help make the genre more inclusive, because swing music (and swingin’ booty!) is for everybody!
