Three years ago I tried Using Facetime for Buying a House Sight Unseen. My clients were in Pennsylvania and could not travel back and forth. So I suggested looking at houses via facetime. The ending of the story goes like this: They bought the house without ever setting foot inside.

If you think that buying a house before seeing it is risky you're right. The larger risk may be wishing you had because someone else did. I get it. In an ideal world, the buyer has all the time in the world to poke around and even offer the seller a bargain-basement price. When it's a full-on buyers market you can do that. Today we are in a strong seller's market. In other words, sellers don't have to bend much. In fact, oftentimes homeowners are getting more than they asked for their homes. Currently, over 30% of all homes sold end up selling for above the asking price!
So it might benefit you to accept the idea of buying a house without stepping inside. You might have to in order to beat out the competition.
