The Trojan War
The Trojan War, one of the most legendary conflicts in ancient history, was fought between the Greeks and the city of Troy. According to Greek mythology, the war began when Paris of Troy abducted Helen, the wife of the Spartan king Menelaus. The Greeks, led by King Agamemnon, laid siege to Troy for ten years. The war ended with the infamous Trojan Horse, a cunning ploy by the Greeks to infiltrate and destroy the city. The events of the war are immortalized in Homer’s epic poems, The Iliad and The Odyssey.
