Natalie Serebryakova - Rustic Persistence: Automating PVC Lifecycles with Rust in Kubernetes
This talk will cover how easy it is to develop Rust-based Operator in Kubernetes using an example of an operator for Managing the PVC Lifecycle. The featured Kubernetes Operator proactively manages PVCs and associated Persistent Volumes (PVs), overseeing their states to automate tasks such as backup and restoration. The utilization of Rust's capabilities for safe memory access and advanced concurrency allows developing operators that can concurrently and efficiently handle multiple backup processes. A major goal of this talk is to cover how the integration of Rust’s robust features significantly enhances the reliability and efficiency of operators managing the lifecycle of PVCs within the Kubernetes environment, spotlighting the innovative application of Rust in automating and managing Kubernetes resources pertinent to persistence.
