The old Toyota Sequoia (2013) clock spring decided to throw in the towel. In this video I walk you through how I changed the clock spring.
The symptoms of my bad clock spring were; The horn was no longer working, the cruise control option was no longer functioning and all of the radio control buttons on the steering were no longer working. Also when turning there was a distinct clicking sound.
These steps / instructions should apply to;
Toyota Sequoia 2008 to 2022 models
Toyota Tundra 2007 to 2012 models
Tools that were useful for completing the job:
Plastic trim remover
Torx bit T30
19 mm socket
Phillips Screw driver
Flat head screw driver or metal mini pry tool
Obviously you will also need a new clock spring. I purchased mine online through Olathe Toyota. They had the best deal at the time. Part cost at the time out the door was $255. Keep in mind obviously this price will fluctuate. The quote I received from my local toyota dealership (not Olathe) but I wont name them here - was $780 to $850.
Part: 84306-06150
Pretty significant savings considering it was not a difficult job.
