Have you ever needed to create a mask or segmentation texture for a 3D object? You can do this using render passes and tags in Spark AR! This technique is super helpful if you are positioning the user in a particular place in your effect and need to include an attached 3D object such as a hat.
In this tutorial I'll show you how to add tags to objects, isolate those objects using render passes, then create a mask that can be combined with the person segmentation texture to isolate the person and a 3D object.
00 Introduction
14 Starting scene
08 Create the rectangle for the masked person+object
59 Setting the texture with the patch editor
11 Create the scene render pass
21 Add the person segmentation texture
56 Isolate the object using tags
00 Use chroma keying to create a mask for the 3D object
54 Combine the object mask and person segmentation
