The M16 rifle is a family of assault rifles adapted from the ArmaLite AR-15 rifle for the United States military. The original M16 rifle was a 5.56×45mm automatic rifle with a 20-round magazine. The M16A4 rifle is the most up to date generation of the original M16 family of rifles, and features a full length quad rail and removable carry handle for the mounting of various optics. Its 20 inch barrel length offers additional stability and accuracy, however at the cost of weight and maneuverability.
