Sand Tornado Hits Beach In Russia
A strange sand tornado scared tourists on a beach in Gelendzhik, Russia, on August 20. The video shows how people escape from the beach while a strong wind with sand scatter umbrellas and sunbeds in different directions, and then simply disappears. Onlooker Elena Konovalova who captured the scene from a nearby gazebo said that children and even birds fled for cover as the tornado swept across the beach. She said: ''I went to the sea and this happened. People were lying down to rest then suddenly the tornado appeared. Children were crying and had to close their eyes and cover their ears. ''Watch how quickly it twists and blows away some of the benches. Thankfully nobody was injured and every one was safe.''
