Saalfrank & Tange solenoid engine
Very briefly made in the 1950s or 60s by Saalfrank & Tange, a motor armature winding factory from Kappeln and der Schlei, Germany, for a toy companuy in Nürnberg which shortly afterwards went out of business - apparently only 100 or so were ever made. Runs very well on 6 to 18v DC - here on two 6v batteries in series. In the closeup you can see the spark from the circuit breakers. Shot during the 3rd Yellerbelly STeam Fair in Horncastle, Lincolnshire, 2nd of November 2024. The driving models are EKT, made in the former DDR.
