Learn Sanskrit—Lesson 12-E1: Basic Translation Exercises, to/from English (Answers/Solutions/Key)
This is the first exercise video (of three) for Lesson 12. In this "E1" video we are dedicated to translating words that are specific to Lesson 12. So in this sense these translation exercises may be thought of as "basic", since they are lesson-specific.
This is in contrast to the other two exercise videos ("E2" and "E3") for Lesson 12, where we are using ALL the words and grammar that we have learned in ALL the lessons so far. So these other two videos for this lesson may then be thought of as "accumulated" exercises, and thus being somewhat more demanding.
THIS "LESSON 12-E1" VIDEO: CONTENTS
This exercise video contains two full sheets of exercises, named A-1 and A-2. On the first sheet (A-1) I am translating six sentences from Sanskrit (Devanagari) to English, using roman transliteration and "eswo" ("English with Sanskrit word order") as intermediate steps.
On the second sheet (A-2) I am translating six sentences from English to Sanskrit (Devanagari), using "eswo" ("English with Sanskrit word order") and roman transliteration as intermediate steps.
NOTE: The viewer is encouraged to stop the video before I begin showing how the translations can be done, so that he or she can try to solve them on his or her own, before watching the answers that I am providing.
