2 Ways in connecting to WLC from scratch
1. via the console
2. connect one of the ethernet port (Distribution ports) to a switch that can provide
dhcp IP and use the obtain IP in the URL bar of browser for the Web GUIs
On the startup setup wizard, we can do the following:
1. set hostname
2. config admin user and password
3. setting Management interface IP address (use in mngt and CAPWAP tunnel connection)
management netmask
management default router
management vlan identifier
management interface port number
management dhcp server
4. setting the AP Manager Interface IP Address (for CAPWAP tunnel termination IP Add)
5. Virtual Gateway IP address
use for redundancy (Redundancy port)
6. Mobility / RF Group Name
somewhat like the SSID
7. Network Name (SSID)
8. configure DHCP Bridging Mode
9. allow Static IP Addresses
10. configuring the Radius Server
11. setting the country code list
12. enable 802.11b network
13. enable 802.11a network
14. enable 802.11g network
15. enable auto-rf
16. configuring the ntp server
17. save changes and reboot... reconnect on the device using the configured mngmt IP
QoS Available options:
1. Platinum (for Voice)
2. Gold (for Video)
3. Silver (best effort)
4. Bronze (background)
LAP Discovery options:
Send broadcast to find WLC
Check flash memory if previously connected to WLC
DHCP option 43 (set IP of the WLC in the DHCP server)
