So, Zhiyun just released their newest gimbal in their Cinepeer Series - the Cinepeer Weebil 3E
Essentially, a stripped down version of the Weebil 3S but with all of the necessary features that you would need in a Gimbal
The main differences between the WEEBILL 3E and WEEBILL 3S series:
1. The standard version can carry a 24-70 f2.8 lens, with the same performance as the WEEBILL 3S.*
2. The built-in microphone and integrated fill light have been removed. The type-C port for follow focus/video transmission has been eliminated, leaving only one camera control port.*
3. The lens support and backing base have been removed, leaving only a single-layer quick release plate (available in landscape and portrait models). The C to C camera control cable is retained, and a sling grip port is reserved.*
4. The Bluetooth shutter control is still available.*
The main reason to use a gimbal is to achieve smooth and stable footage. Whether you're walking, running, or even climbing stairs, a gimbal can help reduce camera shake and give your footage a professional look.
Gimbals also enable you to create more complex and dynamic shots that might be hard to replicate while shooting handheld - for example, in real estate, a gimbal is the perfect tool to get smooth professional shots
Features:
Locking mechanisms - to lock the arms, and for easier gimbal balance
Vertical capability - it's pretty simple to switch to vertical mode, you just have to take out the mount, flip your camera over and then insert the mount vertically. No need to unscrew any baseplates, its really simple and saves time if you need to swap to vertical really quckily
This feature is becoming pretty standard in most gimbals on the market, and its cool to see in the $250 price range
Bluetooth shutter control - to start and stop recording or even trigger auto focus on your camera
the gimbal has around a 1 inch screen for control and functionality but they also have a mobile app as well, where you can access the controls, modes as well as update the gimbal
customizable buttons
a control wheel, so if you have their focus motor, you can control focus with this wheel here
they also offer a sling grip that is sold separately, and its advertised to offer a more comfortable handling experience when in low shooting modes or using the gimbal in general
for me, I just have the barebones Weebil 3E and that is what we will be going over today…and honestly, its pretty great..some would say...perfect..
