LPA Accreditation and Self-Assessment
For over 20 years the Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) program has played a crucial role in ensuring Australia’s $74.5 billion red meat industry continues to thrive. To ensure LPA continues to meet global demands for safe, ethically produced red meat, an updated set of LPA rules have been endorsed by the red meat industry which take effect from 1 September, 2024.
Most notably is the introduction of a new self-assessment tool replacing the existing accreditation and reaccreditation questionnaire. This new tool aims to increase the robustness of the LPA program and enhance the learning opportunities available to producers about the LPA program and its requirements.
Upon completion, producers will be able to download a customised Recommendations Report. This report will provide further insights into activities that could be undertaken on-farm to increase productivity and compliance with the LPA program.
