Formula 1 is back this weekend starting off with its pre season testing in Bahrain.🇧🇭
It's where all teams gather to test their championship cars and you're gonna see these weird grills and paint marks on the cars.

Fluorescent powder mixed with paraffin oil usually.
They apply this on the cars before they head out. When the car travels at high speeds, the paint moves across the body with the airflow. This helps the team check if the aerodynamics of the car are working properly. - When the car returns to the garage, they take photos and make some reports. But since it would be best that nobody else could see the paint, teams often use a paint that can only be seen with the help of a UV light.
Aero rakes:
Metal fence-like structures fitted onto the cars.
They come in various sizes and sometimes it's not obvious when a team is using one.
When a car travels around the track, the metal fence bends due to the force of the air. This data helps teams understand how different aerodynamic setups will affect the car's performance.
This way, they can change parts of the car, to best suit a certain race track, weather condition, or driving style.
