Residential development in Basundhara Residential Area // Timelapse // 2003-2020
Basundhara Residential Area is one of the examples of the fastest-growing city extension pattern of Dhaka city. This land is a major flood flow zones of Dhaka, was a very low land value in the 80s. Some portions of the housing project were declared illegal in 2011 but the government changed its decision in 2014. Now it is one of the most valued lands in the city. The project was built on an area made by filling low-lying marshland and flood flow zones.
In this video, I want to find out the landfilling pattern of this area from 2003 to 2020, and it quite fascinating! The sole purpose of this video is fully educational.
