Citrus fruits can be grown in pots or in the ground, depending on where they are grown. Generally, they can withstand sub-zero temperatures of -3 or -4°C for limes, and -10 or -12°C for some mandarins or kumquats. In "borderline" areas, it's possible to grow orange or grapefruit trees, as they can withstand temperatures down to around -7°C.
