Scavenger: Sniper Rifle - Borderlands
Scavenger: Sniper Rifle is one of the six Scavenger missions throughout the Borderlands. This mission comes from the Fyrestone Bounty Board in the Arid Badlands.
Goal of these missions is to collect 4 pieces of weapons, of which after the completion of the mission, a weapon of the appropriate type is obtained. This weapon is given as a reward for the mission.
Background
"I used to hunt skags from the east ridge near the mine. I was working on a new sniper rifle so I could really take 'em down. I never quite finished and had to stash the parts around so the bandits wouldn't find 'em. If you retrieve the pieces its all yours. I need the Stock, Body, Sight, and Barrel."

Strategy
After selecting the mission, go to the marker on the map and look in the general area of the marker.
Rifle body: Is located on the wood and sheet metal walk-way connecting the upper portion of the shack to the ridge line. It sits on a large box. (It's not on the round hut, it's on the high ridge line to the upper right, indicator is very general.)
Rifle barrel: From the compound entrance, take the dirt ramp to the right and continue along its path. After crossing corrugated steel bridge, there is an observation deck to the right; the barrel is on the table. This piece appears to be the farthest from the others and the waypoint is incorrectly marked for this item marking it someplace near the base of the round hut.
Rifle sight: Under a pile of trash and rubble before the left ramp going up.
Rifle stock: On the top level of the central shack there is a large rusty tank with an arrow pointing up. Sniper rifle stock is on a shelf near the toilet.
Notes
Some of the parts may spawn in a different order, but all locations are the same. Don't be surprised if the barrel is found where the scope should be.
Make sure not to jump into any crevices around the hut. Characters may get stuck and have to clear the entire area again! To dislodge a stuck character try to duck and walk and/or duck and jump.

Sniper Rifle Sight: All the elements appear to be intact.

Game Description
Borderlands is a science fiction first-person shooter game with RPG elements created by Gearbox Software for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Mac OS X. The game was revealed in the September 2007 issue of Game Informer magazine and is the first of a planned series. It was released on October 20, 2009.
Borderlands features four-player 'drop-in, drop-out' cooperative online play in addition to a single-player mode, and two-player split screen co-op modes for consoles. Much of the gameplay consists of traditional first person shooter elements, combining a selection of weapons to use and a selection of enemies to battle. Players also have access to color customizable vehicles for vehicular combat. Deceased enemies drop random equipment, which is available to pick up.
Borderlands includes four character classes, each with unique skills, abilities and back stories:
Brick (Berserker) - Berserk
Lilith (Siren) - Phase walk
Mordecai (Hunter) - Bloodwing
Roland (Soldier) - Scorpio turret
Story
In the distant future, in the year 2864, several colonization ships head to Pandora, a planet on the edge of the galaxy. The colonists are drawn there in search of a better life as well as vast mineral resources said to be on the planet, free for the taking, akin to a futuristic gold rush. Some time after settling, the colonists discover that there is little the planet offers aside from some decrepit alien ruins. When the companies mining the planet leave, they let loose the criminals they had employed as forced labor and left any other colonists there. Some of the settlers seek to get rich quick by discovering alien technology. Most others are just trying to survive. After seven Earth years, the planet's slow orbit brings a transition from winter to spring, and many horrifying creatures emerge from hibernation.
A beacon of hope for the remaining colonists emerges in the form of a mysterious alien Vault carved in the side of a mountain. This Vault is said to contain vast stores of alien technology and secrets. The only problem is that the people who discovered the Vault were completely wiped out by some sort of protective force. The only evidence of their discovery is a scattered radio transmission, proclaiming the Vault's majesty, but not its location.
