BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla slammed Mamata Banerjee over her letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the letter. He said that today, this kind of crocodile tears by Mamata Banerjee does not mean anything because her actions have only been infused with ruthlessness.

The Supreme Court yesterday slammed the Mamata Banerjee government for the delay in FIR. It said that in 30 years, it has never come across such discrepancies....” The Chief Minister has written a letter to PM Modi demanding stringent central legislation for such crimes. The West Bengal Chief Minister called for setting up Fast Track Special Courts for speedy trial and exemplary punishment for crimes.
