In this video, you will see a gameplay of a minigame I made for the mod Lore Origins
THIS WAS MADE FOR LORE ORIGINS 2.0 UPDATE, BE SURE TO CHECK IT OUT HERE: https://gamebanana.com/mods/476070
DISCLAIMER : DUE TO A RECENT SWITCH TO LINUX, I CANNOT TEST WINDOWS VERSIONS OF THE MOD ANYMORE. I'M CURRENTLY WORKING THROUGH DOWNLOADING A VIRTUAL MACHINE TO FIX ANY ISSUES RELATED TO WINDOWS BUILDS OF THE MOD. IN THE MEANTIME, I APOLOGIZE FOR ANY BUGS/CRASHES FOR THE TIME BEING.
Because you thought making 4 new songs for a mod was enough for me?
After 2 months of hard work, a lot of dedication and some art practice, I have finally made my first video game. Now, it's not really a real videogame, this is more of a... FNAF fan-made??... FNF inspired minigame?? Idk. The thing is, most of the assets I used come from various video games, especially FNAF. So I don't feel like I actually made an actual authentic video game due to that factor. I honestly could have tried to make the sounds myself but, I like making references to things, it's my own touch to every project I create.
I would like to thank @SerbyAnimations (https://x.com/SerbyAnimations) for making the ending cutscene for the minigame, I am truly honored to work with such a talented person and, despite not making a longer cutscene due to personal reasons, it is still amazing. Of course, it would not be complete without a fine orchestra-like tune to make the drama more hitting. Note that I took inspiration from the Dismantle intro cutscene bit from the Ourple Guy mod when making this.
I agree, the voice acting is pretty bad, just know that it's my first time. I definitly tried my best but, hey, i can't be good at everything... (i'll probably hire a VA next time...)
It may seem surprising but, I actually made all of Ourple guy's animations myself. I don't really have experience in making pixel animations but it was fun to learn how do to make them. There is also an unused animation that didn't make it to the final build but I might share it very soon on twitter.
Of course, expect some bugs here and there, it's not easy to make a game by yourself, especially when it comes to using an engine like HaxeFlixel, where I have no visual representation of what I'm coding until I compile it. I feel like it would have been way easier to make it on a regular game engine like Godot or Unity, but I wanted to take a challenge for my first game.
