This is my day 2 on Alta Via 1 trail in the Dolomites, from Rifugio Sennes to Rifugio Fanes. It started in beautiful pastureland, through forested meadows, then a steep descent down a concrete switchback to Pederü. Soon, another ascent begins in the hot sun. It was muggy and I felt a little dizzy… Once I made it to the plateau, the jagged peaks towering along the way, the landscape changed to green pastures, and finally, I made it to Rifugio Fanes. Rifugio Fanes is fancy, with interesting decorations and hotel-like amenities, details at the end.
