It's Friday, January 20, 1961, in a very cold and snowy Washington, D.C., as 43-year-old John Fitzgerald Kennedy is sworn in as the 35th President of the United States. Kennedy is the youngest man ever to be elected U.S. President.

This video includes 68 minutes of NBC-TV's coverage of Inauguration Day 1961. The video quality is far from perfect here, but the unedited "as-it-is-happening" nature of this Inauguration Day television footage is worthwhile, despite the fuzziness of the video.

In case you're wondering, I had previously uploaded this video several years ago. But after a few years, it suddenly became blocked in the USA (via a proverbial "Content ID Match", you see), so I deleted it. Now, a few more years later, there is no more USA blockage for some reason, so I re-uploaded it. Such is the fickle nature of YouTube.com.
