TRANSCRIPT
0:15 Hello brilliant change makers. My name is Lorna Li and I'm the host of Entrepreneurs for a Change, a web show about evolutionary entrepreneurs who are changing the world and designing businesses that support their ideal lifestyles.
0:32 If you're a change maker, I highly recommend going through the process of reflecting upon and then defining your life purpose, mission and vision, in a similar way that start-up non-profits and start-up for-profit companies do. Going through this powerful process will infuse your life with incredible sense of purpose and strategic direction and it will actually allow you to make an even bigger impact in the world than you are now.
1:03 Lets start by understanding each of these concepts. Your purpose is an expression of your highest self. It is the fundamental reason behind your existence. It is connected to a greater good, something bigger than yourself. Your purpose is the why. Your vision is the where, the end goal, the final destination. It's the vision of the ideal world that you want to be a part of creating. One of my favorite vision statements is that of the Pachamama alliance and that is an environmentally sustainable, socially just, and spiritually fulfilling human presence on this planet.
1:46 A mission statement is an expression of your unique genius and the methods and strategies you intend to use in order to offer your best gifts to the world. Your mission, vision and purpose are connected. Your purpose is your connection with the source, the divine source, whether it's God, Buddha, Allah, or the Great Spirit, whatever that sense of divine means to you. Your vision is the destination, the end goal, the ideal world you want to co-create and your mission is the vehicle that carries you there.
