Robert Russell: Are You Still Dying Darling? (Siouxsie and the Banshees cover)
This is my cover of the Siouxsie and the Banshees song, "Are You Still Dying Darling"
It was a rare B-side of Killing Jar in 1988, but appeared just a few years ago in a box set. It's a dark song with a great sense of humor. Siouxsie Siuox rules, and I hope I make her proud with my little version of it. (If she ever hears it) ...She is the queen of cool.
Special thanks to the super cool Cello player Emily Elkin, who came into the studio and played that beautiful part. The cello really made things sound much heavier and cinematic.
As usual, my covers a sort of swing punk with an independent sound.
...This is not really a video, as much as it just the cover art with a bunch of fun or even silly effects over the top of it... but it's better than just a still image. :)
