Found to the south of Berwick-upon-Tweed, in the village of Spittal, was a unique combined Manually Gated crossing with a crossing attendant, along with a set of Miniature Warning Lights for the pedestrian gates. The gates are opened on request for any vehicle traffic, but pedestrians use the lights to confirm it is safe to cross.
