I did something. 😊

This is an animation of an “old” 3D model that I modeled about two and a half years ago. As a little exercise, I tried to bring the experience I've gained over the last 2.5 years into the project. Nevertheless, there were a lot of “little happy accidents” during rendering 🤷‍♀️ Which meant that I had to render the animation at least twice 🙈
I also had to adjust the model a bit, as it had some small errors. It's not perfect, but for the time I modeled it, it's pretty good - I think. It is now up to date. It's funny that with old models you always find something, or even a lot, that you would do differently or better today. Unwrapping, shading, modeling - you name it. You're always smarter with hindsight. 🤷‍♀️

I cut the animation in Blender VSE as an image sequence and did a little bit of color grading - here I have to see if I can find a “simple” but more flexible workflow with .exr files without filling up my hard drive with huge amounts of data. At the moment I'm working with jpg's. 🙈

I rendered this animation with a resolution of 3840 x 2160px and 300 samples in Cycles. There are ~ 5500 frames in total and I created and exported it at 60 FPS. The complete render time was ~ 100 hours.

Note: The technology of this mountain bike is no longer up to date and the coloring of some components is artistically interpreted.

If you want, you can buy this model from Blendermarket or CG Trader.
