Two odd cases of attorneys driving away and not coming back home.

In 2003, Jonathan Luna, an assistant US Attorney in Baltimore, Maryland left the office late at night, drove to Pennsylvania and was found dead in a creek with three dozen stab wounds. Originally ruled a suicide, the manner of death was then changed to homicide.
In 2005, Ray Gricar, the district attorney of Centre County, Pennsylvania, drove away from home and his car was found in the parking lot of an antiques mall and his laptop and hard drive fished out of the nearby Susquehanna River. His body was never found.
Both these cases have interesting behaviors and incidents in common prior to these men taking a drive and not returning. What were they and what happened to these men? Can we even properly analyze these case with the information and misinformation available to the public?
