The National News Agency of Ukraine (Ukrinform) was targeted in a cyberattack, with the Russian hacking group Sandworm deploying five different strains of malware. The Computer Emergency Response Team of Ukraine (CERT-UA) identified the malware samples used, including CaddyWiper, ZeroWipe, SDelete, AwfulShred, and BidSwipe. The attack was partially successful, but the CERT-UA found that the hackers had attempted to disrupt normal operation of user workstations. The group policy object (GPO) was used for centralized malware dissemination and scheduled tasks were created. The details of the incident can be found on the CERT-UA website.
