They Told Us Mars Was Empty… They Lied

After burying Nina beneath the frozen Martian soil, silence becomes heavier than the storm that destroyed the crew. The shuttle drifts in orbit while the base systems below continue running on minimal power, and inside the dimly lit control module two survivors try to convince themselves that grief is the worst thing Mars can offer.

They are wrong.

The red radar light activates without warning.

At first, it looks like a system glitch — a flicker on the console, a distorted pulse moving across the screen. Mars is known for dust interference, radiation spikes, sensor errors. But this signal is stable. Repeating. Getting closer.

There are no scheduled returns. No active rovers. No rescue mission from Earth.

The object transmitting the signal is approaching from the surface.

Telemetry begins to stream across the monitor in cold digital lines: a suit ID that should no longer exist. Oxygen depleted. No heartbeat. Internal temperature far below survival limits. The data confirms what should be impossible.

Something is moving toward them.

Inside the shuttle, the red emergency light reflects off their faces, turning fear into something almost mechanical. Communication becomes fragmented. Every sound inside the hull feels amplified. Every vibration feels intentional. The radar pulse grows stronger.

They buried one body.

They did not recover the others.

If you have not seen the previous episodes of Trapped on Mars, you are missing the storm that destroyed the colony and the mission that turned into a burial beneath the Red Planet’s sky. Watch the earlier chapters to understand how everything fell apart before this signal appeared.

This is not just isolation anymore.

Mars is responding.

To be continued.
