Prof. Dr. Björn Ommer, head of the Computer Vision & Learning Group at Ludwig Maximilian University, is one of the few European stars in the AI scene. The AI system "Stable Diffusion," developed by him and his team, can create images based on text descriptions. He will speak on the topic: "Generative AI: Superpower or Hype?"
Generative artificial intelligence is currently changing the world. It is based on deep learning models. These are trained with large datasets and can create new content such as text, images, or videos. Development has accelerated rapidly in recent months. Why is this? And what other changes can we expect?
Professor Ommer will discuss what the transformation of our society, science, and economy will look like, and what the technological breakthrough means for Germany and Europe.
